Two-Phase Setup

Learn how your Investor Compass connects to your home network, links with your cloud account, and renders real-time market data without USB cables.

Phase 1: Local Network Setup (100% Offline)

When powered on for the first time or when Wi-Fi is reconfigured, the display launches a standalone local configuration hotspot. No cloud connectivity or account creation is required for this step.

  • [1.1] Connect your smartphone, tablet, or PC to the Wi-Fi network named TFT_Tracker_Setup.
  • [1.2] Open your web browser and navigate to http://192.168.x.x (the exact local setup IP address is displayed directly on your device screen, such as http://192.168.4.1).
  • [1.3] Select your 2.4 GHz home Wi-Fi network from the scan list, type your Wi-Fi password, and submit.
  • [1.4] The device securely stores Wi-Fi credentials into onboard non-volatile storage (NVS) and connects to your router.

Phase 2: Cloud Account Pairing & QR Code Claim

Once connected to your home router with active internet access, the display generates a cryptographically secure 6-character ephemeral claim code and displays a high-resolution QR code.

  • [2.1] Scan the on-screen QR Code with your smartphone camera or visit platform.lousybear.com/claim.
  • [2.2] Log in to your Investor Compass account and enter the 6-character pairing code shown on your display (e.g. 8F3-K9Q).
  • [2.3] The platform pairs the hardware identity with your subscription tier and generates a dedicated authentication token.
  • [2.4] The display confirms pairing on-screen and immediately downloads your active watchlists and layout configuration.

Phase 3: Screen Customization & Over-The-Air Streaming

Use the web-based Layout Designer to drag and drop tickers, candlestick charts, and performance heatmaps onto your screen canvas.

  • [3.1] Arrange up to 6 custom pages with stock quotes, multi-week candlestick graphs, and sector gainers.
  • [3.2] Click Publish Layout in the builder. The updated layout pushes over-the-air to your display instantly.
  • [3.3] Market data streams continuously with automated fallback caching in RAM during network interruptions.
